Event captioning questions
How do I add live captions to a conference or event?
Run LiveSubs on a show laptop, pick the audio source (usually the front-of-house mic feed or a playback device), press Start, and route the captions to your display. It streams a transparent caption frame over NDI and Spout plus the live text over OSC, so it drops into whatever is driving your screens.
Can I show event captions on a big LED wall or projector?
Yes. LiveSubs sends captions as an NDI or Spout video source, so you can bring them into vMix, Resolume, TouchDesigner, a media server or a switcher and place them on an LED wall, a projector, an IMAG feed or a dedicated caption screen.
Is there a way to caption a one-off event without a subscription?
Yes. LiveSubs is prepaid and pay per minute at $0.04/min, so you only buy the minutes your event needs. There is no subscription and no monthly commitment, which suits single events and shows.
Can it caption a live show or concert?
Yes. Feed it the spoken or sung audio and it produces realtime captions or lyrics you can put on the LED wall, the IMAG feed or side screens. Because it captions any audio source, it works with your existing FOH setup.
How do I make my event accessible for deaf and hard of hearing attendees?
Show live captions on a screen the audience can see. LiveSubs generates realtime on-screen captions from the speaker's audio, which is a common way to support deaf and hard of hearing attendees and to meet accessibility and ADA expectations at live events.
Can it caption a multilingual or international event?
Yes. Transcription runs on Deepgram Nova-3, which handles many languages, so you can caption events for international and multilingual audiences.
Does it integrate with vMix, Resolume or a media server?
Yes. Captions go out over NDI, Spout and OSC at the same time, so they drop straight into vMix (NDI), Resolume and TouchDesigner (OSC or Spout) and most media servers and switchers that accept NDI.
